Deferred Payment Plan

Enrolling in the Deferred Payment Plan allows for semester registration fees to be paid in five monthly installments of 20% each. For current registration fee amounts see: http://registrar.berkeley.edu/Registration/feesched.html

Due dates for the installment payments are:

Installments	Fall Term	Spring Term
First installment	August 15	January 15
Second installment	September 15	February 15
Third installment	October 15	March 15
Fourth installment	November 15	April 15
Fifth installment	December 15	May 15

A non-refundable participation fee of $40 per semester will be assessed to your CARS account. Please do not pay the participation fee until it is billed.

To elect the Deferred Payment Plan, submit the amount of the first installment noted in the message section of the billing statement via e-Check (http://bearfacts.berkeley.edu). The account will not be on the plan until the first payment is received. Subsequent payment amounts will be included in the "Minimum Amount Due" figure listed on the monthly bill.

Deadlines for electing the plan are August 15 (fall) and January 15 (spring).

If installment payments are not credited to the account by the due date, the following may occur:

• The account may be assessed a late fee. See (section on late fees)

• A block may be placed on your registration for future terms

• You may be dropped from the rolls, i.e. grades will not post to your transcript until all registration fees for the term are paid in full (applies to December and May installments)
