Creating a Profile - Students:

After selecting e-Bill, you will be transferred to the site hosted by our vendor, Sallie Mae Business Office Solutions, utilizing their Net.Pay payment gateway service. |

Your name and primary email will default from your University records. Email Address: The primary email address displays from your University records. You may provide an additional, optional email address to receive e-Bill/e-Check notifications. The additional email address will not become part of your University records and will not be used for other University communication. |

Statement Summary / View:

Select [Statement Summary] from the main menu CARS e-Bill statements will display for up to 12 months. To view the statement detail, select “CARS Bill” in the Statement Name column. Statements are issued monthly as long as there is an outstanding balance or activity on the account. Students can confirm activity on the account between statements by selecting the CARS menu options in Bear Facts. |

Select [Statement Summary] from the main menu A $0.50 convenience fee will be charged. This convenience fee will be deducted from your bank account. It will not be charged or posted in CARS. If you have stored bank account information in your profile, select the account you wish to use for the payment. If you have not stored bank account information, select “Checking Account” or “Savings Account” |

Notes on Bank Account Information: Payments will
be processed as Web-ACH transactions. Checks drawn on investment accounts,
equity lines, credit card accounts and some credit unions are not eligible.
Please confirm the correct configuration for the routing number and bank
account number with your financial institution.
The Routing/Transit number will be validated by the system upon entry. The
bank account number cannot be confirmed until a payment is submitted. If
the bank account number is entered incorrectly, the payment will reject
and a processing fee will be accessed. Please ensure the accuracy
of the bank account information.
Paying by One Time Payment Gateway:
A companion tool to e-Bill / e-Check is the One Time Payment Gateway. This site allows anyone who knows the Student ID Number, the Student Last Name and the amount to pay to submit an electronic payment to CARS from a checking or savings account.
The student will see One Time Payments on his/her e-Bill Payment Summary and in BearFacts CARS Payment History.
A convenience fee of $0.50 per payment will apply. The convenience fee will not be charged or posted to CARS.
One Time Payment does not allow for:
- Viewing of the CARS e-Bill statement
- Saving of a User Profile

Granting Access to Parents and Other Payers:
Students may allow a third-party to view the CARS e-Bill and to make payments to their account via e-Check.
The Other Payer will create a unique User Name and Password for their individual e-Bill profile. See Creating a Profile – Other Payers.
Students authorize access to their CARS e-Bill statement by providing the Other Payer with:
- Their 8-digit UCB/Student ID Number. The UCB/Student ID Number is assigned to the student when he/she is granted admission to the University. This number is unique to the student and is used on all University records.
- An invitation to e-Bill. The invitation is delivered via email and contains an Activation ID number that is entered by the Other Payer during the profile enrollment process.

The Other Payer will receive an email indicating their Activation ID number.
If the Other Payer misplaces their Activation ID number, the student can view it from “My Profile.”
